Job Type: Full time, day shift position with full benefits.

Hours: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am-4:30pm, position may require overtime.

Description: This position will provide the hands-on training, course work and work experience to become an AERA Certified Engine Machinist. An Engine Machinist rebuilds or modifies the components of an engine after they have been removed from a vehicle.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop the skills to become a Master Engine Machinist at Baril Engine Rebuilding, Inc.
  • Work within a team, in a fast-paced ever-changing environment, in a positive and a professional manner. 
  • Develop and maintain expertise on machining and remanufacturing engine components including cylinder heads, blocks, crankshafts and/or connecting rods. 
  • Develop and maintain expertise with manual machining equipment, pneumatic tools, precision gauges, measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Learn and maintain shop safety practices and procedures.
  • Safely move, load, and unload engines and engine components using physical labor, hand carts, overhead jib cranes hoists, and/or forklift trucks. 

Base Qualifications/Abilities:

  • Mechanic experience with engines, engine components, and/or performing hands on mechanical machining work.
  • A person of high standards and character that has a proven track record of reliability.
  • Ability to maintain a high attention to detail and precise workmanship while being highly productive.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to quickly understand how something mechanical works.
  • Strong basic math skills and the ability to learn “Engine Math”
  • This position requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 75 lbs., upper body movement, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and the ability to stand up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to learn how to use machining and resurfacing equipment, use micrometers, calipers, measuring and inspection tools, hand & pneumatic tools, overhead hoists, and forklift trucks.
  • A Self-motivated person that is able to work in a team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Accredited technical school program students and/or graduates are preferred.

Engine Cleaning and Disassembly Technician

Baril Engine is adding an Engine Cleaning and Disassembly Technician to our team. This position is where several of our master machinists and our shop foreman started at with our company.

Job Type: Full time position with full benefits.

Hours: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am-4:30pm, position may require overtime.

Description: The Engine Disassembly and Cleaning Specialist position plays a critical role in ensuring our customers received an exceptional quality product from us. In engine rebuilding, proper parts cleaning, preparation, and inspection is essential to a high-quality engine build. In this position you will fill a valued role in our company.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Clean, disassemble, inspect, and prepare gas and diesel engines and/or engine components for machining and rebuilding while strictly adhering to all safety and quality guidelines and regulations.
  • Photograph, label and/or organize engines, engine components and parts in a manner that protects them from damage and simplifies their reassembly.
  • Interact in a positive and a professional manner with customers and co-workers. 
  • Use and maintain commercial cleaning equipment, pneumatic tools, impact tools, wrenches, grinders, buffers, precision gauges, measuring instruments, and equipment.
  • Safely move, load, and unload engines and engine components within the shop area and from customer and/or company vehicles using physical labor, hand carts, overhead cranes, hoists, and/or forklift trucks. This position requires being on your feet most of the day, ability to lift 80 lbs., upper body movement, bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Recondition engine flywheels using a flywheel grinder.

Base Qualifications/Abilities:

  • A person of high standards and character that has a proven track record of reliability.
  • A strong interest in engines, engine components, and performing hands on work.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry parts up to 80 pounds multiple times and the ability to stand up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to use commercial cleaning equipment, hand & pneumatic tools, overhead hoists, and forklift trucks.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a self-directed environment with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work within a team in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
