Our turnaround time is typically less than two days to clean, inspect and magnaflux cylinder heads, blocks, crankshafts, and connecting rods. If your part needs machine work or remanufacturing, we will provide a timeline after we have inspected it and better understand the work it needs.

For complete engines, the remanufacturing process typically takes anywhere between 3-4 weeks depending on our backlog. Currently, the primary culprit in extended turnaround times is parts availability.

Sometimes we have a particular part or engine already done, and we can hot-swap your part to deliver a ready-to-go part to you within a day. New parts are typically shipped the day of sale and can be overnighted for expedited delivery.

No, there is no need to make an appointment; we take work on a first arrived, first-serve basis. One exception to this is scheduling our in-chassis counterbore or cam bearing services at your location; please contact us to make an appointment for those services.

Yes, Baril Engine provides an economical pickup and delivery service to our customers in eastern Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Yes, both! We can use OEM parts if you request them for your engine build. However, we use aftermarket parts from some of the top companies in the industry, such as Interstate McBee, PAI, IPD, Maxiforce, and more. These companies have been in business for 50+ years and are built on their reputation of being reliable. The failure rate on aftermarket parts is less than 1% overall. Many OEM parts are actually made by our aftermarket suppliers; they just go in a different (and expensive) box. You can rest assured that the parts we use are of top-notch quality.

Baril Engine Rebuilding, Inc is a family-owned independent rebuilder and retailer of engines and engine parts. Baril Engine is a dealer for Isuzu Industrial, Mitsubishi industrial, PSI engines, and Kunz Engineering equipment; we are a Trade Partner Dealer for Kubota industrial engine parts. Baril Engine is an aftermarket parts dealer for PAI, SBI, Interstate-McBee, Mahle, FP Diesel, Maxiforce, and Wiseco. All other OEM manufacturer’s trademarks, brand names, symbols, and/or product descriptions are for internal engine and/or part model identification use only. Baril Engine’s website content, statements, advertisement, or literature should NOT be interpreted or implied as Baril Engine’s direct relationship with OEM manufacturers or their respective dealer network. Under no circumstance is any engine or part advertised by Baril Engine Rebuilding, Inc affiliated with any OEM manufacturers.

Yes, all of them! We are happy to build your engine to the level that works best for your situation.

Yes, we have a team of experienced old-school machinists who do jobs best suited to a manual machinist’s skill set. However, we do not offer any production CNC machining services.

Yes, we clean and inspect parts that do not require any other work. We also offer the service of cleaning industrial parts.

Yes, our primary business is custom engine building, and we are happy to build to our customers’ specifications. However, please rest assured that if we cannot meet your engine building requirements or believe the customer’s request build will be an issue, we will have the integrity to say so!

No. We offer a full range of engine machining services to our customer that wants to build or assemble their own engine. We can help you with any individual engine component or all of them!

Do not use synthetic motor oils during the break-in procedure. Follow the recommendations of the engine manufacturer for the proper viscosity to be used during and after the “break-in” period.

It is important to use oils that contain an EP (extreme pressure) additive; we recommend that you use a special “break-in” oil. Older engines without oil filters may require special considerations, such as the use of non-detergent oils unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.

There are methods to repairing some cracks, but we typically avoid these repairs as they tend to have unpredictable results. If you have a rare or highly valuable part that is cracked, we would be happy to discuss the possibility of repairing it. Please be advised that there is no warranty on any crack repair work we perform.

We specialize in engine building and engine machining; we do not remove or install engines. However, we can recommend various partners to help you install your new engine, and we are more than happy to answer questions regarding your engine’s installation.

We do not do any porting or flow testing work on cylinder heads.

We do not provide engine performance tuning services.

We remanufacture just about everything in-house at our shop in Green Bay, WI. We are a full-service AERA (Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association) machine shop and engine remanufacturing facility. The hard internal parts such as the crankshaft, cylinder head, engine block, pistons, and connecting rods are all machined and/or assembled in-house. We use trusted partners for turbos and injectors, but everything else is done right here.

No, unfortunately we do not ship internationally.

A “core” is an industry term for a used engine or part that has passed all the necessary inspection tests and is acceptable for the remanufacturing process. A part with an issue that cannot be resolved by remanufacturing is not eligible to be a core. Typically, a new or remanufactured part has a “core charge” which is a fee that the customer must pay. When the customer’s used part (core) has been received and accepted by the parts vendor, the customer will receive a refund in the amount of the core fee. If the part is not returned or is not accepted by the parts vendor, there is no refund of this fee. Any shipping or freight costs involved with the return of the core are not refunded to the customer with the core fee.

Yes! Baril Engine believes strongly in supporting locally based motorsports. All our existing sponsorship agreements are with teams that were first Baril Engine Customers. If you see a Baril Engine logo on a car, truck, or tractor, we have played an integral role with its engine. Integrity and character are the first and foremost considerations when we choose the teams we are sponsoring. We are proud to be involved with Eddie “The Eagle” Anschutz, Double J Powersports, LLC, Tractor Tracks, LLC, and Todd Krause Racing.
